Senaka, a publication by Harsha Bhatkal on the life and works of internationally acclaimed artist Senaka Senanayake will be launched at the Colombo Hilton tomorrow. The book contains his works from different stages of his life, such as paintings done as a child, as a student at Yale University and those done after he was married.

Tamil Nadu Police crackdown on LTTE supporters

TAMIL NADU police have taken a stern view of LTTE sympathisers in the State, reports from India said. They have warned supporters against showing solidarity of any kind with the Tigers, issuing an advertisement in newspapers warning against holding rallies, meetings or any other action that would appear to support the LTTE.

SRI LANKAN AMBASSADOR to Qatar S. B. Atugoda said on Friday that Sri Lanka was seeking more opportunities for its professionals in various fields in Qatar. Speaking to Gulf Times on the eve of the arrival of a Sri Lankan trade delegation, the envoy said in view of Qatar’s rapidly growing economy, he expected opportunities for professionals in various sectors

Dialog customers to enjoy massive tariff slash

DIALOG TELEKOM announced a massive reduction in outgoing calls and SMS charges with effect from December 1 in celebration of reaching four million customers. This reduction takes Dialog call charges to among the lowest in South Asia and will significantly reduce communications expenses for one in five Sri Lankans
