One dead in claymore attack

A civilian was killed when a crew cab carrying project workers came under a claymore mine attack on Saturday evening at Katagamuwa - a village situated in the remote end of the Yala sanctuary.

The claymore attack suspected to have been carried out by Tiger terrorists had targeted the vehicle carrying workers on an administrative assignment around 6.30 p.m.

Police and Army personnel have begun a search of the area for the suspects.
