Security forces will continue their operations in Kilinochchi
according to its principal plan in spite of all possible retaliation
measures put into place by the LTTE following Friday’s air strike by the
Sri Lanka Air Force which S.P. Thamilselvan.
Director General of the Media Centre for National Security Lakshman
Hulugalle said yesterday: “It is a big blow for the LTTE and it is a an
unexpected damage caused to their organisation. To lose a key member who
has been there for a time is a big damage for any terrorist organisation,”
he explained.
Asked if the Government security forces have tightened its security
after the incident over any possible attack by the LTTE, Hulugalle said
that it was not on that basis that the Security Forces have streamlined
the security of the VIPs, state institutions and the public.
“It was in keeping with the principal strategy to wipe out terrorism
that security has been intensified. The additional measures have been
taken to protect the public,” he said.
On being pointed out that the LTTE had declared that they would not
let go the death of Thamilselvan unanswered, Hulugalle said that it was
not their policy to issue counter comments on LTTE statements.
“None of their statements nor their actions are going to pull out the
Security Forces from the principal strategy it has laid on the ground,”
he added. |
