Austria to commence direct flights

President of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) D. Eassuwaren, met Trade Commissioner of Austrian Embassy Hans-Joerg Hoertnagl at the Chamber Office recently.

Hoertnagl said Austrian Airlines will start flying to Sri Lanka from November and with this, trade between the two countries could be developed.

Eassuwaren said trade between Austria and Sri Lanka is at present in favour of Austria and requested Hoertnagl to promote Sri Lankan products in Austria.

Presently, Sri Lanka imports products such as rail equipment, water treatment plants, sewerage treatment equipment and also food products like cheese. In addition they are also strong in vocational training.

Hoertnagl requested the Chamber to promote setting up vocational training centres by Austrians as they are strong in entrepreneur training. For entrepreneur training they adopt a method called “Experience Enterprise”.
