NAMAL to list in CSE

National Asset Management Limited (NAMAL) is in the process of
convincing the Stock Exchange to list the unit trust investments of
NAMAL investors.
This will enable investors to redeem their investment funds on a
short-term basis, Chief Executive Officer, NAMAL, S. Jeyavarman, said at
the launch of the “NAMAL Amana Equity Fund” at the Galadari Hotel
yesterday.
“When these equity funds are invested in the stock market, the owner
ship of the investments will be transferred but the funds will remain as
an investment at the stock market. This will be advantageous for the
investors,” he said.
“Funds invested through NAMAL on equities are advisable to be held
more than five years to gain maximum rewards. There are instances we
have noticed when these unit trust certificates can be used as
securities to find short-term funds at the financial institutions when
needed,” Jeyavarman said.
He also said that investors should understand that rewards gained
through investing long-term financial instruments are highly
advantageous than short-term investments.
There is a tax-free annual dividend released for these investments on
equities. The main objective of this link with Amana is to provide
capital growth. |
