Dialog posts Rs 7.98bn profit in first 9 months

Dialog Telekom PLC - recorded a profit after tax of Rs. 7.98 bn up seven per cent relative to the nine months ended September 30, 2006. Company earnings comprise in the main of contributions from mobile business supplemented by earnings accruing from the company's International Business Operations and Internet Service Provider Operations.

Mihin to increase frequencies

Mihin Lanka is to increase their frequency to three destinations in the South Asian Region from next month. Head of Commercial, Mihin Lanka, Rohana Perera said these additional flights would be to Trivandrum, Trichy and the Maldives. The airline already operates five flights a week to Trivandrum, four to the Maldives and three to Trichy.

Record price for sheet rubber

The highest price for sheet rubber was recorded as Rs. 261 last week. Director General Rubber Development Department Wimal Rubasinghe said it was for the first time in the history that rubber prices went up to that level and it was between Rs. 200 to 230 all the time.
