SriLankan Holidays is targeting a revenue in excess of Rs. 800 million for the next financial year. This is a 100 per cent increase as against this year.

General Manager SriLankan Holidays, Amith Sumanapala said their first year of operations has been very successful. “We have tied up with new hotels and partners to promote these packages more aggressively,” he said.

He said the airline would be launching direct flights to Coimbatore from October 29, and their total weekly flights to India would reach 100 by next month. “This would also create more opportunities as India is a key market for their growth,” he said.

Last year SriLankan Holidays carried over 10,000 people and 50 per cent of this had been from Sri Lanka.

New Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad have powered traffic to Sri Lanka while Bangkok had been the favourite destination for Lankan travellers. “We are expecting a 125 per cent increase in volumes for next year,” he said.

Sri Lankan Holidays also launched two new brochures to coincide with their first year anniversary to its global partner-network. This will be one of the key tools used in its new growth strategy.

Sumanapala said they are very excited to introduce the very first set of fully illustrated travel brochures for both inbound and outbound holidays.

“The brochures are very user-friendly and will be a valuable tool for travellers looking to holiday in Sri Lanka or anyone of the destinations served by SriLankan Airlines.”

The Inbound brochure features 15 holiday destinations.
