HP launches their newest notebook series

HP introduced their new notebook series to the Sri Lankan market
yesterday. These include consumer notebooks and commercial notebooks.

Wong said Sri Lanka is an important market for HP though it is a
relatively small market and they have noticed a significant growth in
the notebooks segment in Sri Lanka.
Many local computer users are now moving from desktop PCs to
notebooks due to mobility and trends in the world and there is market
growth in the consumer notebook segment, he said.
“There are more foreign direct investments coming to Sri Lanka and
there will be a strong market growth in the commercial segment too,” he
added.

K. P. Sim said their desktop PC business in Sri Lanka was higher than
the laptop segment and it was only 10 per cent.
“But now our laptop segment is growing at a significant growth rate.
Sim said commercial users and normal consumers have different
requirements. Our newly-launched notebooks are targeted at consumers and
commercial users to cater to their different requirements.
HP launched HP Compaq 2710p Notebook PC an ultra-thin convertible
notebook that combines convertible notebook productivity with tablet PC
flexibility.
It joins the HP Compaq 2510p, HP Compaq 6510b, HP Compaq 6710 series,
HP Compaq 6910p, HP Compaq 8510 series and HP Compaq 8710 series to
round out the company’s comprehensive portfolio of mobile offerings.
These notebooks are equipped with cameras and special finger print
security systems. They also have a special drain to dry any liquid
incase of an accidental spill.
It also has a special sensor to detect shocks.
