Menaka, Prasanna win medals

Menaka Wickramasinghe won the gold medal, running in the 400m at the
ongoing World Military Games in Hyderabad. Menaka representing the Sri
Lanka Defence Services team clocked 52.93 seconds to win the event.
Meanwhile, Lalani Shanthi Iranganie who participated along with
Menaka in the same event was placed fifth. Iranganie though failed
yesterday she had the best timing at the trials ahead of Menaka
Wickramasinghe.
Meanwhile, Prasanna Amarasekera who competed in the Men's 400m in
Hyderabad yesterday in the same games was placed third to win the
bronze.
Amarasekara managed to finish the event 46.40secs. The winner had a
time of 46.30secs.
