President’s visit to India

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoori, Rudra Gangadharan and Director of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Adminstration and Public Administration Ministry Secretary D. Dissanayake. The President and Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama were also present.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa undertook a two-day official visit over the weekend to New Delhi, India, where he addressed the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit on the theme 'India in a regional context: A neighbour's view', reaffirming Lanka's commitment to a negotiated settlement to the North-East issue.
He also met several prominent personalities who addressed the HT Summit and held talks with Indian leaders including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
