Claymore claims Jaffna Varsity lecturer

JAFFNA: A Jaffna University lecturer and a Government Technical Officer were killed and three soldiers injured in an LTTE claymore mine attack targeting a Security Forces foot patrol yesterday morning at Sithankerni Junction along the Manipay-Karainagar road in Jaffna, military sources said.

The incident occurred at around 8.00 a.m. yesterday. The victims have been identified as Sharadha Maransodhi, 42, a senior lecturer of the Jaffna University and Kandan Nishanthan, 25, a Technical Officer of the Uduvil AGA office.
