Shani: Pianist par excellence to perform here soon



GIFTED PIANIST: Shani Diluka.

MUSIC: Once again the Alliance Francaise de Colombo has invited the internationally acclaimed Sri Lankan pianist Shani Diluka Abeygoonaratne who lives in France to perform in Sri Lanka and she will be here soon.

"Shani Diluka is considered as one of the greatest talent of her generation" Piano Magazine.

From Paris to Tokyo, from Rome to New Delhi, Shani Diluka has a special and warmly acclaimed place in the musical world.; Born in Monacco, of Sri Lankan origin, accepted unanimously into the Conservatoire National Superior de Musique in Paris and recognised by the great musicians of today: Leon Fleisher, Murray Perahia, Christoph Eschenbach, Maria Joao Pires or Menahem Pressler, she is admitted in 2005 the prestigious International Pinao Academy in lake Como presided by Martha Argerich for which only six pianists from around the world are selected each year.

Her recording of Mozart by Radio France was selected to represent France and has been broadcasted on 150 radios in more than 25 countries including USA and Canada for the Mozart commemoration year.

Shani Diluka will release a Mirare/Harmonia-mundi recording of the Grieg concerto and Lyrical pieces recorded on Grieg's piano in Norway, which will be presented on a world concert tour in 2007 with prestigious orchestras.

"Passionate and sensitive, young and beautiful, and immensely gifted, she belongs to the category of pianists capable of fascinating the audience with her precise technique, her sensual style and her remarkable presence on stage". - Sunday times, after her recital in Concertgebouw of Amsterdam in the prestigious young master series.

Shani Diluka performs fourth ballade of Chopin worthy of the Greatest. After thunderous applause, Murray Perahia declares:" this is a magnifique interpretation, it is difficult to make any comments after this." - Murray Perahia after choosing her to play in public and televisual appearance in Salle Gaveau.
