President’s Trophy Schools Rugby begins today

RUGBY: The President’s Trophy Schools knock-out rugby tournament will kick-off today at the Royal Sports Complex with St. Sylvester’s clashing with home-town rivals Vidyartha in the first quarter-final at 3.30 p.m. followed by the second quarter-final between league champions St. Peter’s and Prince of Wales at 5 p.m. The tournament is being sponsored by Nestle (Lanka) Limited.

On September 18 (Tuesday) Thurstan will clash with Mahanama in the third quarter-final at 3.30 p.m. at the Royal Sports Complex followed by the game between Isipatana and St. Joseph’s at 5 p.m. at the same venue.

The schedule:

(1) Vidyartha vs St. Sylvester’s on September 17 at 3.30 p.m.

(2) St. Peter’s vs Prince of Wales on September 17 at 5.00 p.m.

(3) Thurstan vs Mahanama on September 18 at 3.30 p.m.

(4) Isipathana vs St. Joseph’s on September 18 at 5.00 p.m.

Semi-finals:

(5) Winner of (1) vs winner of (2) on September 25 at 5.00 p.m.

(6) Winner of (3) vs winner of (4) on September 25 at 3.30 p.m.

Finals on September 29 at 5 p.m. (All matches at Royal Sports Complex).
