Rs 5 million investment for pest management
EXTERMINATORS (Pvt) Ltd., integrated pest management service
providers extends its latest branch to Kandy. The latest branch will be
opened on September 20, while the company presently operates from
existing branches in Battaramulla and Nugegoda.
“The total value of the project is Rs. 5 million,” said Marlon
Ferreira, Director Marketing, Exterminators (Pvt) Ltd. The company owns
an employee base of 25, including 14 technicians.
It handles goods and service provision for domestic and industrial
purposes in pest, termite and mosquito controlling, fumigation services,
pest constancy and pest management. Exterminators carry out a risk
assessment prior to treatment using the latest technology in pest
management by assessing pest biology.
“We experienced a 200 per cent growth of total sales in 2005 and
2006. The company intends to increase revenue by 50 per cent by the end
of 2007,” Ferreira said.
Exterminators is the sole company in Sri Lanka to have trained
experts internationally for improvement of quality services.
“ Our staff has received training in institutes such as, British Pest
Control Association, Royal Society for the Promotion Health of UK,
Federation of Asia Oceanica Pest Manager’s Association and additional
institutes in Singapore and Australia. We invest over rupees 2.5 million
annually to train them,” he said.
General Manager, Exterminators, Rasika Sampath said Pest Management
industry is not wide spread in the country.
“We are on a campaign to educate the public further about the virtues
of incorporating pest management solutions,” he said.
