Dialog launches BlackBerry Connect in Sri Lanka

Dialog Telekom, Sri Lanka's flagship telecommunications company, and Research In Motion (RIM) announced the launch of BlackBerry Connect software on selected Nokia and Sony Ericsson handsets, enabling a wider choice of devices with push-based wireless email and services.

With BlackBerry Connect, the Nokia E61i, Nokia E65, Nokia 9300i, Sony Ericsson P990i and Sony Ericsson W950 can support push-based wireless email with attachment viewing and other features in conjunction with BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service.

"Dialog Telekom has always been at the forefront when it comes to the introduction of the latest technological innovations to the Sri Lankan market.

BlackBerry Connect is another such innovation. As always, we also offer optimum customer convenience by giving our customers a choice of five handsets which can connect them to the powerful and far reaching BlackBerry experience.", General Manger Sales and Marketing of Dialog Telekom Nushad Perera said.

"We are very pleased to launch BlackBerry Connect with Dialog Telekom," Vice President of Asia Pacific at Research In Motion, Norm Lo said .

"BlackBerry Connect, together with the Nokia and Sony Ericsson devices and the Dialog Telekom network, offers an innovative and powerful mobile solution that meets the distinct needs of both users and IT departments."

Dialog subscribers who are current users of Nokia E61i, Nokia E65, Nokia 9300i, Sony Ericsson P990i and Sony Ericsson W950, will be able to download BlackBerry Connect software from www.dialog.lk/ blackberry/bbconnect. New customers will find the BlackBerry Connect software pre-loaded when they purchase the selected devices from Dialog Telekom.

For corporate customers, BlackBerry Enterprise Server software tightly integrates with, IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise and works with existing enterprise systems to enable secure, push-based wireless access to email and other corporate data.

For individuals and smaller businesses, BlackBerry Internet Service allows users to access multiple supported email accounts (including most popular ISP email accounts) from a single device.
