Nivasie embarks on ‘Go Green’ campaign
Tamara NISSANKA
Nivasie Developers has embarked on a ‘Go Green’ campaign, to preserve
the quality of nature in construction projects.
The campaign begins with the Victoria Range Bungalows in Zone II.
Nivasie has taken this initiative at a time when global warming has
become a growing environmental challenge.
Marketing Manager, Dilan Senevirathne said corrective measures should
be taken to reduce global warming.
Rainwater harvesting, retaining natural topography through minimising
cutting and filling the land area are among the eco-friendly solutions
adopted into housing schemes.
Zinc Alum sheets are used for roofing, instead of ordinary asbestos.
Using Durra building material (boards), a 100 per cent Sri Lankan
product using densely compressed rice straw is another step towards
adopting environmental friendly methods in construction.
Power for the streetlights and the hot water systems will be
generated through solar power.
Each house will be given a compost bin, by which it will contribute
to maintain the fertility of soil.
Nivasie, a leader in the real estate field for the past seven years,
is backed by the International Construction Consortium, and have
developed some of the well-known housing schemes including Nivasiepura,
The Nest, Tranquil Crecent and Hill Crest Estate. |
