56th SLFP National Convention on September 2
COLOMBO: The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) will hold its 56th
National Convention on September 2 with President Mahinda Rajapaksa as
chief guest at the BMICH, Colombo.
Announcing the programme scheduled for the National Convention, SLFP
General Secretary, Agriculture Development and Agrarian Services
Minister Maithripala Sirisena disclosed plans are on to hold an
exhibition to bring to light milestones of 56 years’ progress of the
Party since its inception in 1951.
J. R. P. Suriyapperuma will deliver the keynote address. His theme
would be ‘Way forward in the light of the 56-year journey’.
The third Jana Hamuwa (public rally) organised by the SLFP will be
held on September 7 at Samanala Sports Grounds, Galle and the fourth on
October 7 at the Badulla Sports Grounds, the Minister said. |
