Security Forces seize weapons

COLOMBO: The Security Forces have killed three more LTTE
terrorists who were running away after the liberation of Thoppigala, the
Centre for National Security said.
According to the CNS the Security Forces have attacked LTTE
terrorists trying to escape in groups from the Thoppigala area, at
Welikanda Ranselatenna yesterday and on Saturday at Aralaganwila,
Ommanugala and Miyankalli and Siththandi.
While the attack had killed three LTTE terrorists, the Security
Forces seized 11 T 56 rifles, two sniffers, five hand bombs and a large
number of fire arms.
They also seized two sets of powerful communication equipment, dry
rations and 100 pairs of slippers found at Ranselatenna, the Media
Centre reported.
The forces have also recovered 20 T 56 rifles, LMG arms, five maps,
four anti personal mines, nine sets of powerful communication equipment,
a large number of ammunition and including anti tank weapons at
Miyankalli and Siththandi killing one terrorist who tried to run away
from Thoppigala, the CNS added. |
