Over to you Traffic Police
As a resident of Rajagiriya and a frequent user of the local post
office (10107) I parked my car and went to post a few letters.
On my return to the car and about to drive off came a private bus
with the driver screaming at me for having
taken his space.
After the bus went off to turn, a passerby came to me and said that
he had heard the bus driver shouting at me and said that all the buses
have their bay on the main road.
He also told me that bus driver had hit his parked car and broken the
tail light.
On talking to the people near the Post Office I discovered that the
private buses are allowed to behave like this by Police officers.
If those who want to wear the Khaki and earn from the Sri Lankan
public they should do their duty. We need law and order in and near the
Rajagiriya P.O. We, the public cannot be treated like this by violent
and abusive bus drivers.
Over to the law and order officers.

The trained teachers of National Colleges of Education of the
academic year 2004/2006 completed their three years national diploma
course including a year of internship training in different streams.
They finished the above course in December 2006.
These teachers have been waiting for their posting for more than six
months. Generally, the permanent appointment is given to the trained
teachers of the Colleges of Education within three to four months, after
completing their national diploma course.
Now it has already passed nearly six months, but there is no response
to give appointments.
Although all the interviews have been conducted to give the
appointments to these teachers, the posting has been done only in the
Eastern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
The President promised to give their permanent appointments within
three months under ‘Mahinda Chinthana’. But nothing has happened yet
except the passage of time.
Consequently, these teachers suffer a lot without having a source of
income to meet the day-by-day escalating Cost of Living. They cannot
further depend on their parents’ income. Therefore, these teachers must
be given appointments as soon as possible.
