Hard fought win for CH

RUGBY: CH and FC pulled off a hard fought 18 points to 15 points victory over Havelocks Sports Club in their Caltex inter club ‘A’ division league rugby tournament first round match worked off at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

CH and FC who led 11-8 at half time collected their points from one goal, one try and two penalties while the Havies responded with a penalty goal, one try and a penalty.

Fly half Dinuk Wijeratne and scrum half Tuan Shamrocks scored a try each for CH and FC with the former converting one try and also put over two penalties. Second row forward Chaturanga Amarasinghe scored the solitary try for Havelocks SC and fly half S. Lakshan added the extra points and also fired across a good penalty. (C.D).
