Australia upgrades travel warning for UK
SYDNEY: The Australian Government yesterday upgraded its travel
warning for Britain, saying there was a high risk of a terrorist attack.
The new travel advice was issued after a double car bomb plot was
thwarted in London on Friday and a vehicle was set alight and rammed
into the main terminal at Scotland’s Glasgow airport the following day.
The United Kingdom is now at the third of five levels of warnings
issued by the Government, with travellers urged to exercise a “high
degree of caution.”
“We advise you to exercise a high degree of caution and monitor
developments that might affect your safety in the United Kingdom because
of the high risk of terrorist attack,” the Australian warning said.
