Bail application for SSP Udayapala

COLOMBO: An application for bail in respect of Senior SP K. Udayapala was filed before the Colombo High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundera yesterday. The Judge fixed the hearing of the bail application for June 25.

Senior SP Udayapala is in remand custody in connection with the murder of underworld gang leader Nawala Nihal’s brother. The petitioner K. M. H. W. K. Pahathkumbura, wife of senior SP Udayapala, cited Director, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Attorney General as respondents.

Danaraj Samarakoon Senior Counsel for the Petitioner supported the bail application before court.
