Aviva workshop on risk based capital

WORKSHOP: Demonstrating Aviva’s continuous effort towards the development of the Sri Lankan insurance industry, Jim Webber - Group Actuary and Economic Capital Director for Aviva plc, will conduct a series of workshops on Risk Based Capital, to be held today at Trans Asia.

The workshop will also be attended by CEOs of the Sri Lankan Insurance industry and the Board of Directors of IBSL. This topic is relevant in today’s context of the proposed legislation on increased minimum capital requirement of insurance companies.

Jim is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the UK, and an associate of the USA Society of Actuaries. Jim has almost 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, over half of which has been spent with Aviva and predecessor companies.

A life insurance expert, he has also worked in pensions, general insurance and health insurance.

In his current role, Jim is responsible for capital allocation, actuarial reporting, economic and risk based capital processes and reporting, and developing Aviva’s actuarial talent pool.

Jim was previously Actuarial Director for Aviva Europe & International.
