APRC meets President
COLOMBO: The Members of the All Party Representative Committee
met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday informed the
progress made by the APRC and sought his advise to further the
activities of the Committee. A media release issued by the President’s
Secretariat said the meeting was conveyed on the invitation of the
President.
The APRC committee set up to find a solution to the ethnic problem
has so far met 29 times and has discussed proposals for a permanent
solution to the national issue. Yesterday’s meeting was mainly to keep
the President informed of the APRC’s progress.
Addressing the APRC members President Rajapaksa assured his support
and invited the members to work towards preparing the report on the
final solution to the ethnic issue without delaying any further.
APRC Chairman Minister Prof. Tissa Vitharana, Higher Education
Minister. Prof Wiswa Warnapala and other members were present at the
meeting with the President at Temple Trees. |
