Chemtech 2007 today

COLOMBO: The Chemtech 2007 Conference organised by the Institute of Chemistry, Ceylon will take off today at the BMICH. Science and Technology Minister Prof. Tissa Vitharana will be the Chief Guest. Guest of Honour Prof. Leslie Gunathilake will deliver the keynote address on “Chemistry for the post Genomic Era - New directions in Natural Products Chemistry for the 21st Century”

The Annual Sessions of the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon will precede Chemtech 2007 on today morning. Chairman Hayleys Ltd N.G. Wickremaratne will deliver a keynote address while Mevan Pieris, President of the Institute of Chemistry, Ceylon, will deliver the Presidential address on “Chemistry, Technology and Innovation for Greater Safety and Economic Growth in the Rubber Industry of Sri Lanka.”
