Cut in nose: No danger to child’s life
COLOMBO: The life of the child admitted to the Badulla
Hospital with a minor cut in the nose for treatment is not in danger as
reported by some sections of the media, a Healthcare and Nutrition
Ministry said yesterday.
Badulla Hospital Director Dr. M. D. Dharmapriya said the person who
treated the child first was not a physician registered with the State.
It was reported that the physician had allegedly stapled the severed
nose and the life of the child was in danger.
Health Ministry statement quoting Dr. Dharmapriya said there was no
danger to the child’s life.
Uva Director of Health Shelton Chandrasiri acting on Health Minister
Nimal Siripala de Silva, directive had taken steps to inquire into the
incident. He had also informed the Health Ministry that Badulla Police
was investigating. |
