VOLLEYBALL: Sri Lanka will take on Maldivian spikers in a three match
series beginning today. Maldivian spikers have arrived in the Island on
their way to compete at the forthcoming Second Central Asian Volleyball
Championship to be held in Pakistan from June 18.
Sri Lankan spikers too will travel to Pakistan to participate in the
tournament.
Arranging this three match series is a good move taken by the
Volleyball Federation. This will definitely help the local spikers to
get into good fettle just before their departure.
The newcomers to the side will be highly benefitted by these three
matches as they get the opportunity of confronting an international
opposition on home soil and is expected to be a morale booster.
This wise move is a commendable one when thinking of the games
future.
Today the game is to commence at 4.00 p.m. at the Sugathadasa Indoor
Stadium.
The second and third games too will be played at the same venue
commencing 4.00 p.m. each day.
