Claymore blast kills three civilians

TIRUKKOVIL: Three civilians were killed in a Claymore mine explosion on the Kotte Vihara road in the Akkaraipattu-Pottuvil main road belonging to Tirukkovil Police division in the Ampara district yesterday.

According to sources the incident had occurred around 6.30 p.m where a canter truck carrying three civilians had got caught up in the blast, where all three had died on the spot. Police were conducting investigations at the time of going to press.
