LTTE suicide boat recovered on civilian information

BATTICALOA: An LTTE suicide boat laden with four claymore mines in its front tubes was found by troops at the Komathalamadu lagoon yesterday. According to Army sources, this recovery has thwarted a major attack on the Security Forces in the area.

On May 21, another such boat was found by the Security Forces in the Pannichchankerni lagoon in Vakarai. According to sources, the recovery of the boat was possible due to civilian information. The boat is being examined by the Army bomb disposal unit.
