New heads for BoC, People’s Bank

APPOINTMENTS: Gamini Wickramasinghe has been appointed, Chairman of Bank of Ceylon (BoC) with effect from May 23. Wickramasinghe is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is currently the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and Insurance Board of Sri Lanka as well.

Further, he is also the Managing Director of Informatics, a leading IT training centre in the country. President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to appoint the Director Board of BoC soon.

W. Karunajiva, a lawyer has been appointed Chairman of the People’s Bank.
