Awareness seminar held for Armed Forces

JAFFNA: Army's ongoing awareness programme on Human Rights (HR) and International Humanitarian Law (IHL) got under way at Kankesanthurai last Thursday with the participation of Brigadier Titus Githiora, now serving as a Delegate to the Armed and Security Forces, International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), ICRC Head of sub Delegation, Jaffna Irene Flyeckiger and over 120 officers of the tri services.

The two-day seminar covered a wide range of subjects and spheres including Internal Disturbances, Command Responsibilities and Enforcement of International Humanitarian Law, Integration of IHL.
