Sandasen MARASINGHE
COLOMBO: Colombo District Court Judge Aruna C. Ranasinghe
yesterday issued an enjoining order refraining Chairman of Lanka
Salusala Ltd from preventing Hemapala Silva working as the Personnel
Manager of Salusala.
Wijewardana Sarath Hemapala Silva filed the plaint before the Colombo
District Court citing Chairman of Salusala W.G.A.G.U.H. Weerasinghe and
Salusala Ltd as respondents.
Plaintiff filing the plaint through Attorney Prasad Sirimanna stated
that he was appointed as the Personnel Manager of Salusala and the
Chairman was attempting to remove him forcefully from his post.
Hemapala Silva stated that he was working as the Personnel Manager of
Salusala since 1994. When he completed his age 55 by February 8, 2007
the Director Board of Salusala extended his service in writing with
another year.
The Director Board considered his 12-year service as the Personnel
Manager of Salusala would be supportive in the project of restructuring
the Salusala.
The plaintiff further submitted a letter sent by the Chairman of
Salusala to him on April 10, 2007 which stated that Hemapala Silva was
suspended from his post. Plaintiff further stated that Chairman had no
legal power to do so.
Plaintiff valued the case for Rs. 100,000.
Attorneys-at-Law Athula Bandara Herath, Poornima Ovitagama and
Subashini Godagama appeared for the plaintiff instructed by Prasad
Sirimanne. |
