New Ambassadors

COLOMBO: Two senior career officers in the foreign service and a leading businessman have been named as Sri Lanka’s new Ambassadors to Poland and Egypt and High Commissioner to Malaysia.

A Government Information Department release said Additional Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs C.F. Chinniah who has previously served as High Commissioner in Maldives will be the new Ambassador in Poland.

Senior officer in the Foreign Service I. Anzar who has earlier served as Sri Lanka Ambassador in Oman and Saudi Arabia will be the new Ambassador in Egypt.

Sydney Jayasekara, a leading businessman who is currently the Vice Chairman and CEO, Bogala Graphite Ltd., will be the new Sri Lanka High Commissioner in Malaysia.

He has earlier served as Chairman, Sri Lanka Standards Bureau and a Director of the State Gem Corporation and the Pan Asia Bank.
