450 rural schools to be developed

GAMPAHA: Rs. 175 million has been allocated for the development of rural schools to reduce student congestion in urban schools. According to Education Ministry sources the Rural School Development Project has taken action to renovate and develop 450 rural schools. One hundred schools will be developed this year.

The Government has plans to minimise the increasing demand for urban schools by initiating this project.
