Contribution: 'Ozific Lanka (Pvt) Limited enjoys a great amount of
economies of scales through its centralization of trade. We came into
business in Sri Lanka just an year before. Our contribution of foreign
exchange revenue has reached 50 million Sri Lankan rupees last year.
"Which is the difference of foreign exchange Ozific Lanka (Pvt)
Limited spent on its imports and the amount of foreign exchange earned
through its exports, General Manager, Ozific Lanka (Pvt) Limited,
Chandima Gunawardana told the "Daily news".
'We are a limited liability Sri Lankan company incorporated under the
Companies Act. The headoffice is in Sidney, which acts as a centralised
managing office for all the business transactions of various branches of
Ozific. Ozific's headquarters buys tuna products and noodles in bulk and
distributes to its various branches across the countries.
This enhances economies of scale and we are able to give Sri Lankan
consumers a global product at an affordable price, he said.
"Ozific Lanka (Pvt) Limited imports tuna products from various
countries in the southern part of the world and "indomie" brand noodles
from Indonesia. We export tea as well on different conditions, he said.
Ozific tuna is available in cans as Ozific tuna flacks and Ozific
tuna sandwich spreads in supermarkets in Sri Lanka".
We have imported one container, which contains 50000 cans last year
to the Sri Lankan market, he said.
When Daily News told Gunawardana, that Sri Lanka is bestowed with
tuna and that people have enough fresh tuna fish, he said that the tuna
available in Sri Lanka is fresh but not every time do people can enjoy
it.
"It's the advantage of globalization to give tuna at an economical
price to enjoy it in an easy form. Since the taste of the Ozific tuna is
acceptable by the people and it's in instant form we have enough demand
in the market than we expected at the start.
Sixty percent of tuna sold and the remainder is available in the
market. This year we are planning to import another container, he said. |
