Thirteen appointed to Tsunami Media Board

COLOMBO: The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka recently appointed 13 members to the Tsunami Media Board in the Trincomalee District to assist the families effected during the Tusnami waves.

The Trincomalee Government Agent also accompanied Justice Jayawickrema during his visit to the Trincomalee District.

Human Rights Commission, Commissioner Justice D. Jayawickrema who interviewed the 13 members to the Tsunami Media Board said that the selected members will be attached to the Ministry of Justice and they will receive special training at the Ministry.

Justice Jayawickrema also visited the Muttur District and inquired about the facilities available to the Tsunami effected persons in that areas.

Women in the Muttur area had told Justice Jayawickrema that they were satisfied with the facilities available to them. Houses destroyed during the Tsunami will also be repaired soon.
