Stamps to mark Lankan cricketers’ entry to World Cup finals
COLOMBO: The Philatelic Bureau of the Department of Posts will
issue two new commemorative stamps to mark Sri Lanka’s entry to the
World Cup finals.
The first cancelation of the stamp will take place at the Postal
Headquarters, D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10 today.
The designing and production of the stamps were finalised within two
days, a release said.
These stamps were designed by stamp designer Sanath Rohana
Wickramasinghe. With 25 years service, he completes designing 125 stamps
with these two cricket stamp. Wickramasinghe has played cricket for
Mahinda College, Galle. |
