SLAF takes swift action
Suspicious air movement detected:
Katunayake: Air Force has engaged its air defence weapons at a
suspicious air craft observed in the Katunayake skies last night.
The suspicious air move has been detected by the air defence radar
around 10.45 p.m
The air defence weapon systems have been activated targeting the
suspicious air craft in order to avoid a possible terror air raid at the
Air Force base. The Air Force sources further confirmed that no air raid
has taken place and the Air Force base is safe.
Air Force Commander Air Marshal Roshan Gunatileke said the SLAF took
precautionary action after receiving information about a suspicious air
movement. |
