Step to make travellers aware of flight schedules in advance

INFORMATION: Singapore Airlines is requesting customers to provide their mobile phone contact at the time of reservation, and asking travel agents to ensure that this information is sent through to the airline as part of the process of making reservations for clients.

The information will support the introduction of an enhanced mobile flight information service that alerts the customers, ahead of time, if their flight is re-timed.

Customers will receive a text message on their mobile phone from the Airline only if there is a significant change in flight time.

The SMS will indicate the new flight time, and will be sent between three and 48 hours prior to the original flight time.

This SMS service is available to all Singapore Airlines customers, which includes Sri Lanka as well.

The enhanced mobile flight information service is designed to minimize the inconvenience caused to customers in the event of a significant change in flight time known ahead of departure.

It replaces the Airline’s original “Arrivals and Departures Alert” service, which was available only to frequent flyers and customers who have registered for the flight alert service and registered their mobile numbers on the Singapore Airlines website.

Other customers can also enjoy this mobile information service simply by indicating their mobile phone numbers on singaporeair.com or to their travel agents when booking their tickets.

This mobile flight information service is part of Singapore Airlines’ ever-improving suite of mobile services, developed to offer customers a hassle-free pre-flight experience when travelling with the Airline.

Most commonly used mobile devices support these services. The Airline also has a range of self-service options that offer customers complete flexibility and convenience when checking-in for their flights.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) informs the public that they will continue to operate their daily services between Colombo and Singapore as scheduled.
