Houses distributed among tsunami affected
COLOMBO: Housing and Common Amenities Minister Ferial Ashraff
handed over the ownership of twenty one houses to tsunami affected
families in Talpitiya Galle recently.
The housing scheme is equipped with all facilities including pipe

The maintenance work of the houses constructed in tsunami affected
areas has been entrusted to National Housing Development Authority (NHDA)
and Condominium Management Authority (CMA).
Meanwhile the Condominium Management Authority (CMA) with a view to
finding solutions to the problems prevailing in condominium apartments
is to set up one hundred Management Cooperations (MCs) to maintain
private and State owned condominium apartments throughout the country.
The CMA Chairman M.M.Abul Kalam said that a survey conducted by the CMA
showed that many housing unit owners in the condominium apartments are
not keen to establish Management Cooperations.
