Foreign Minister stresses need for joint patrolling by India, Lanka :

Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama and his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee discussed the safety of fishermen and future naval exercises to heighten security in the Palk Strait during an hour long meeting on Monday.

Special bank account to serve War Heroes

A special Bank Account named Api Wenuwen Api (Together for All) will be opened shortly to be utilised for the welfare and use of war heroes in the battle field. This is in keeping with a concept of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Government which has clearly understood the problems encountered by war heroes in the battle field, said Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Chinese business delegation here for joint packaging material venture

Swift follow up to President's visit to China :

A business delegation from Kunming Import and Export Group, China would be in Sri Lanka today to assess the investment potential in Sri Lanka with the private sector. This delegation is visiting Sri Lanka subsequent to the visit of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to China recently and is a follow up on the negotiations made during his tour.
