Wayamba Royal-Sir John Kotelawela College clash on February 23 and 24

CRICKET: The fourth Big Match between Wayamba Royal College, Kurunegala and Sir John Kotelawela College, Kurunegala will be played on February 23 and February 24 at Welegedera Stadium commencing at 9.00 a.m. each day.

These two schools are new to the cricket arena but have shown good performances in cricket.

Last three encounters ended in no decisions but out of these matches, two 1st innings victories were recorded by Wayamba Royal while Sir John Kotelawela College recorded one 1st innings victory.

Fourth year player Prasanna Dharshana leads the royal side. At the four matches he scored 150 runs including one half century.

4th year player Luqman Wadood vice-captain of the team has scored 320 runs and as a wicket-keeper of the side claimed 14 victims so far.

Nadesha Krishan, 4th year player right-hand batsman scored 480 runs including one century and three half centuries.

Wayamba Royal have played eight matches this season and recorded two outright victories against Madampa Central Uhameeya D. S. Senanayake Central College 4th year player, top order batsman J. M. A. C. Jayaweera leads the Sir John Kotelawela side and has scored 388 runs and captured 46 wickets so far.

Thilina Herath last year's captain scored 526 runs and captured 53 wickets. Sir John Kotelawela College played eight matches and recorded two outright victories against Matale Vijaya College and D. S. Senanayake Central College, Uhumeeya.

Saman Priyantha de Silva is coaching Royal and Thusitha Herath coaches Sir John Kotelawela College.

Malcolm Perera, Manager, Training Sri Lanka Cricket will be the chief guest. The guest of honour will be Ranjith Madurasinghe, former Test cricketer and Ajith Ekanayake (district coach).
