ANCL Founder's Day commemoration ceremonies

COLOMBO: The 121st birth anniversary of D.R. Wijewardene, the founder of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House) falls on February 23.

The Lake House Directorate with the cooperation of the Lake House Buddhist Association has organised a series of Buddhist meritorious activities on February 24 and 25 to commemorate the event.

The all night pirith chanting under the patronage of Ven. Kirinde Pemasiri Thera of the Sambuddhaloka Viharaya, Fort will commence on February 24 night followed by the noon alms-giving to the Maha Sangha the following day. Ven. Wahumuve Vijayawansa Nayake Thera will deliver the Pirith Anusasanawa.

The Maha Pirith Deshanaya of the all night pirith chanting will be broadcast over the national service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation on February 24.
