HORANA: “Norway, through the MoU signed in 2002 with the LTTE, to operate the Cease Fire Agreement had claimed the permit to acquire oil deposits in Sri Lanka, in the region.

North and East and from the Northern sea, was not a secret, said the JVP parliamentarian, Sunil Handunnetti addressing a seminar held at Horana Town Hall.

He said, “Researchers have revealed, that, an amount of 10 to 70 million oil barrels were deposited in our Northern Region and the Norwegian had included the phrase to claim those oil deposits to their possession,” he said, adding that, the condition laid was to fund the Northern Eelam State, of Prabakaran in future” he revealed.

“It was why we told the government to keep away from the Ceasefire Agreement” he insisted.

LTTE-Ranil signed the CFA will complete five years on February 22.2007 he said.

“CFA is now a dud coin” he said.

“It is food for thought for the government to be vigilant in the matter” he finally said.
