Norway thro’ MoU in bid to exploit oil deposits - JVP MP

HORANA: “Norway, through the MoU signed in 2002 with the LTTE,
to operate the Cease Fire Agreement had claimed the permit to acquire
oil deposits in Sri Lanka, in the region.
North and East and from the Northern sea, was not a secret, said the
JVP parliamentarian, Sunil Handunnetti addressing a seminar held at
Horana Town Hall.
He said, “Researchers have revealed, that, an amount of 10 to 70
million oil barrels were deposited in our Northern Region and the
Norwegian had included the phrase to claim those oil deposits to their
possession,” he said, adding that, the condition laid was to fund the
Northern Eelam State, of Prabakaran in future” he revealed.
“It was why we told the government to keep away from the Ceasefire
Agreement” he insisted.
LTTE-Ranil signed the CFA will complete five years on February
22.2007 he said.
“CFA is now a dud coin” he said.
“It is food for thought for the government to be vigilant in the
matter” he finally said. |
