Govt condemns India train attack

COLOMBO: The Government yesterday vehemently condemned the bomb attack on Monday on a train from India to Pakistan.

This abominable act of terrorism on “Friendship Express” deserves the condemnation of all right thinking persons. International community must deal with this affront to civilisation resolutely, a Government statement said.

The Government expressed its deepest sympathies to the victims of this act of terrorism. “As a fellow South Asian Nation that continues to be affected by similar acts of terror, Sri Lanka firmly takes its place with the Government and peoples of India and Pakistan,” the statement added.
