Muttur hospital to get more staff, facilities

MUTTUR: A delegation of the Muttur Majlish Shura organisation
met North East Governor Rear Admiral Rohan Jayawickrama at his official
residence on Friday and discussed various issues relating to the Muttur
Base Hospital.
The Governor pledged to appoint four doctors, five nurses and five
cleaning labourers to Muttur Base Hospital before the end of this month
and to make the casual labourers permanent.
Due to the lack of doctors,nurses and other staff at Muttur Base
Hospital the people were undergoing immense hardships for a long time.
During this meeting the Governor promised the delegation that an
ambulance would be provided to Muttur Hospital.
A three storeyed hostel for doctors and staff too would be erected
while an ECG machine together with a laboratory technician would be
provided.
Resettlement Minister Rishath Bathiyutheen, Co-operative Deputy
Minister Najeeb A Majeed,Eastern Province Deputy Health Director E. G.
Gnanagunalan, Muttur District Medical Officer M. M. Shukri, Muttur
Majlish Shura President M. M. Kareem and several others attended the
meeting. |
