Limit parcels for North to 1 Kg - PMG

COLOMBO: The Post Master General (PMG) has requested the public to limit the weight of the parcels intended for distribution among the internally displaced persons in the North only to one kilogram.

He requested the public not to send items such as rice, flour, grains like dhal and liquid items for despatch from Trincomalee harbour to Jaffna as adequate stocks of these items are already in store and instead medicinal items for patients and children's milk powder may be sent in one kilogram parcels.

The Post Master General stated that all Post Masters in the island have been instructed to accept only parcels weighing one kilogram and below.
