Mahanayake thera lauds President's decision

COLOMBO: The Chief Prelate of the Malwatta Chapter, Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera, lauded the President's decision to entrust the Nation Building portfolio with Minister S.M. Chandrasena who understands the suffering of the poor.

The Mahanayake Thera expressed these sentiments when Minister Chandrasena, called on the Mahanayake thera and received the blessings of Maha Sanga after assuming duties at the Getambe regional office.

The Minister paid his obeisance to the Sacred Tooth Relic at Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy.

The President's move in this direction has greatly helped wipe out hatred among different ethnic groups brought about by hypocritic politicians. President Rajapaksa is genuine in his feelings for the downtrodden.

The Maha Sangha is anxiously awaiting to cooperate with Minister Chandrasena who is closely associated with President Mahinda Rajapaksa to strengthen his hands in his efforts to build the nation, the Mahanayake Thera stated.

Minister Chandrasena, pledged to seek the guidance and advices of the Maha Sangha in his pursuit of the development process of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who trusted him the task of nation building.
