Senevigama Housing Complex opening on Feb. 10
More Jana Sevana schemes to be vested with homeless:
RATNAPURA: Power and Energy Minister W. D. J. Seneviratne and Housing
and Common Amenities Minister Ferial Ashraff will open the Senevigama
Housing Complex in Weligepola, Ratnapura by handing over the keys of 30
houses already completed under the project to the beneficiary families
at a ceremony at the housing complex on February 10 at 2 p.m.
The Senevigama housing scheme is a concept of Minister Seneviratne
and the thirty houses already completed under the scheme had cost Rs.
2.4 million at nearly Rs. 78,000 each, said a press release issued by
the Power and Energy Ministry.
The Housing Ministry funded the project and the Weligepola Pradeshiya
Sabha, Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council and the CEB contributed towards
the building of infrastructure facilities.
Under this Jana Sevana housing project targeting low income families
in Ratnapura district the 21 unit Jayawickumagama housing scheme in
Embilipitiya was vested in the people last year.
The Doralabada housing scheme in Kuruwita consisting of another 21
houses and Bandaranayakegama in Pelmadulla with 23 houses are due to be
completed this year.
Apart from this, work is also due to be completed this year on the 27
unit Kandegama housing scheme in Weligepola, 13 Unit Kaduwanhenyaya
Housing Scheme in Elapatha and the 25 unit Ulinduwawa scheme in Kolonne.
