Innings victory for Piliyandala Central

CRICKET: Piliyandala Central College recorded an innings and 101 run
victory over Dehiwala Central in their inter-school under 20 cricket
match for the Lemonade Trophy.
Piliyandala Central batting first piled up 439 runs and centuries
coming from Isanka Harshana (139) and Vajira Wettasinghe (118). Both of
them associated a record fifth wicket partnership of 267 runs.
Visitors were all out for 93 runs in their first innings and
following on they did much better to score 245 runs. N. Mangala did the
most of the damage with 5 for 17 for the homesters.

St. Benedict's College were well placed at 171 for 5 in reply to

yesterday.

their inter school cricket tournament match which began at Mount Lavinia
yesterday.

Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa are in a strong position in their
inter-school under 20 Division one cricket match against Revatha
College, Balapitiya played at Moratuwa for the Lemonade Trophy.
In reply to visitors total of 162 runs at the close of day one
Cambrians were 210 for 3. Last year's Cambrian skipper Isuru Gunasena
was the most successful bowler for home team with 5 for 27. Openers
Shashan Silva 85 and Marlon Fernando 75 put on 152 runs partnership for
the first wicket.
For Revatha College Namal Sandakelum and Pradeep Nandana scored 40
and 37 runs respectively.
